Overview

KABIL (from Turkish roots, “KABIL” means skillful, worthy, capable and competent) is a support organization. KABIL supports government agencies, corporate entities, NGOs, and Community Based Organisations (CBOs) with knowledge, know-how and do-how to promote well-being of the rural poor, focusing on livelihoods enhancement. KABIL practices a hands-on approach. It provides the know-how and do-how in-situ, by engaging with partners at the site of action whenever necessary. It provides long term support till the results are visible on the ground.

KABIL has one of the best of Indian experiences of rural livelihood promotion and poverty alleviation using community entrepreneurship, institution building, natural resource management and value-chain approaches. It tries to apply this experience and expertise to support others in addressing poverty wherever there is.

KABIL is anchored by a group of professionals with long years of experience in rural livelihood promotion in the poorest regions of India. Many of them earlier worked in PRADAN, the Indian NGO whose professional work at the grassroots has repeatedly influenced Indian policy for rural poverty alleviation.

KABIL was registered as a society Under Societies Registration Act in December 2012. It is also registered as a charity under Section 12A and Section 80G of Income Tax Act.

KABIL is eligible to receive foreign contribution under The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA).
