Achintya Ghosh

A development professional having more than 3 decades of experience in leading non-profit institutions in the area of livelihood promotion and Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM). Achintya was the chief executive of PRADAN, a leading livelihoods promoting organisation in India, for a term of 5 years. He has also held many leading portfolios inside organisation looking at programmematic, thematic, and strategic angles. Have been responsible to initiate the projects in the Indian States of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Assam. He has been credited with taking the innovations of community led livelihoods promotion interventions to the Eastern African Nation of Ethiopia and to the north-eastern States of India. Achintya has been a mentor to many leaders in the development sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Also, he has had stints at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad and City University of New York, USA.
